Things move so quickly with Trump’s addled, revenge-seeking brain that I write a post and then put it on the back burner because something has preempted the story. I did that with this post one month ago. But with Trump’s latest move against Harvard, banning it from enrolling international students, a move that would have Harvard losing 27% of its student body, I thought it was time to put this one back in the queue.
A while back, in a childish reaction, Trump pulled $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in contracts from Harvard University, after the institution said it would defy the Trump administration’s demands to limit activism on campus. This is not money used for department chairs or professors’ sabbaticals; this is money dedicated to research in saving lives.
